Q. How often should I clean my carpet?
A. Recommended frequency varies greatly. As a “Rule of Thumb” at least once a year. Light colored carpets with heavy use can require 2-4 times per year.

Q. How long does it take to dry?
A. Our process takes 3-5 hours to dry for carpets and 2-4 hours to dry for upholstery cleaning. Lengthy drying can contribute to odors, mold and mildew. Our process allows fabrics to be about 90% dry at completion. You will be able to walk through your house immediately once we are done.

Q. How do I keep my carpet looking Great?
A. Regular and thorough vacuuming at least once a week and more often in heavy traffic areas will remove soil and dirt particles before they become embedded into the carpet.

Q. How do I get up a spill?
A. Act quickly. The recommended method is to blot up liquids with a white cloth. NEVER scrub with a brush.

Q. I've heard it's best to put off having your carpet cleaned as long as possible, is this true?
A. No. In fact, many of the major carpet mills today recommend professional cleaning at least once per year. The build up of soil in your carpet in combination with foot traffic creates abrasion that breaks down your carpet's fibers. The higher the traffic in a given area, the more often the carpet will need cleaning.

Q. What are those ugly black lines around the baseboards and under doorways?
A. If you have light colored carpet, you may have experienced these dark lines that appear on the carpet. This soiling is called filtration soiling because it comes from air passing through the carpet as it is attempting to get through the crack between the carpet and the baseboard or under a closed door. As the air passes through the edge of the carpet pile, this microscopic soiling is deposited there (hence the term filtration soiling). This occurs over a significant period of time and is not noticed until a build up has occurred.

This type of soiling is difficult to remove because the soil particles are so fine that they penetrate deep into the carpet pile, sometimes into the backing of the carpet. Can it be removed? Sometimes. With special products, time and effort, reasonable results can sometimes be achieved. To help prevent filtration soiling, vacuum and wipe the edges of the carpeting on a regular basis. Be careful around the tackstrip on the edge of the carpeting, it could nick your fingers!

Q. Should I have my carpet dry cleaned or steam cleaned?
A. Most major carpet manufacturers now recommend hot water extraction (steam cleaning) as the preferred method. Like the laundering of your clothing, steam cleaning is highly effective in removing soil and other contaminants from your carpet. It is one of five carpet cleaning processes that are officially recognized as an industry standard.

To most people "dry cleaning" means cleaning without water. The fact is that most carpet cleaning advertised as "dry" cleaning actually uses anywhere from a little to a lot of water! That's because most of the soil in your carpet is water soluble. For the most part that means better results with a wet cleaning process. On the other hand each cleaning process has its place given the circumstances. For the majority of residential customers steam cleaning will deliver the most effective results.
